Design of the stand for the multi-function hall
1、 Introduction to Multi functional Hall
A multifunctional conference hall, as the name suggests, is mainly a comprehensive venue designed to meet the multifunctional needs of conferences, small-scale cultural performances, holiday celebrations, entertainment, movie screenings, and more.
As shown in the figure below, a typical multifunctional hall
2、 Stand line of sight design
1) The visual design should allow the audience to see the entire performance area on the stage. When limited by conditions, the audience of seats with poor visual quality should also be able to see 80% of the performance area.
2) The selection of viewpoint should meet the following requirements:
1. The frame style stage theater should be selected at the center of the stage entrance line;
2. Large lip and extended stage theaters should have their design viewpoints appropriately shifted outward according to actual needs;
3. The viewpoint of the island stage should be chosen at the edge of the performance area;
4. When limited by conditions, the design viewpoint can be appropriately raised, but should not exceed 0.30m above the stage surface; the backward shift towards the projection line of the large screen or the edge of the performance area should not exceed 1.00m.
3) The design of elevated visibility should meet the following requirements:
1. The visual elevation difference "c" value should be taken as 0.12m;
2. When calculating the elevation value of the line of sight, the seating arrangement should be staggered to ensure that the line of sight directly sees the viewpoint;
3. Children's theaters, extended stage theaters, island stage theaters, and open-air theaters can increase their visibility requirements;
4. To meet higher sound quality requirements, it is advisable to use higher requirements for line of sight elevation design.
4) The height of the stage surface from the ground of the first row of seats should comply with the following regulations:
1. The frame style stage surface should not be less than 0.60m and should not be greater than 1.10m;
2. The extended stage surface should be 0.30-0.60m, and a protruding stage with a frame style stage can be level with the main stage.
3. The island style stage surface should not be higher than 0.30m and can be level with the audience floor.
5) The farthest line of sight from the audience's viewpoint should not exceed 33m for song and dance theaters, 28m for drama and opera theaters, and 20m for extended and island stage theaters.
6) The maximum downward angle of the audience's line of sight on the frame style stage should not exceed 20 degrees for the rear seats of the building; The balcony or side balcony near the stage should not be more than 35 °. The elevation angle of extended and island stage theaters should not exceed 30 degrees.

4、 Design and Selection of Multi functional Hall Stand Seats
1) The center to center distance of the seat armrests should not be less than 500mm for hard chairs and 550mm for soft chairs.
2) The seat spacing should meet the following requirements:
1. Short row method: Hard chairs should not be less than 800m, soft chairs should not be less than 900m, the distance between stepped floor rows should be appropriately increased, and the horizontal distance from the backrest to the most prominent part of the back row should not be less than 300m;
2. Long row method: Hard chairs should not be less than 1000mm; soft chairs should not be less than 1100mm. The distance between stepped floor rows should be appropriately increased, and the horizontal distance from the backrest to the most protruding part of the back row should not be less than 500mm;
3. When setting up seats against the back wall, the distance between the last row of seats in the balcony and pool seats should be increased by at least 120mm.
3) The number of seats arranged in each row should comply with the following regulations:
1. Short row method: When there are walkways on both sides, the number of seats should not exceed 22, and when there are walkways on one side, the number of seats should not exceed 11; When exceeding the limit, for every additional seat, the row spacing increases by 25mm;
2-Row Method: When there are walkways on both sides, the number of seats should not exceed 50, and when there are walkways on one side, the number of seats should not exceed 25.
4) Example of seat selection for multifunctional hall:
Considering multifunctional use, the multifunctional hall is generally designed with movable stands, and there are three specific options:
A. Electric telescopic grandstand, with multiple layers and fixed at one end. Configure soft pack chairs or plastic chairs, both front and rear mounted.
B、 Mobile telescopic grandstand, generally not exceeding 8 floors, equipped with soft pack chairs or plastic chairs, usually front mounted.
C、 Ordinary movable seats
6. Safety and fire protection requirements for grandstand design
1) The layout of the corridors in the audience hall should be adapted to the capacity of the audience seating area, smoothly connected to the emergency exits, and the width should meet the requirements of safety evacuation calculations. The clear distance between the first row seats of the pool seat and the front edge of the stage should not be less than 1500m, and the clear distance from the music pool railing should not be less than 1000mm. When a disabled seat is set up in the first row of the pool seat, an additional distance of not less than 500mm should be added.
2) The number of seats between two horizontal aisles should not exceed 20 rows, and when seats are set against the back wall, the number of seats between the horizontal aisle and the back wall should not exceed 10 rows.
3) When the floor of the seat is 500m higher than the front row and when there is a height difference in the longitudinal aisle or staircase on the side of the seat, railings should be installed. The railings should be sturdy and should not obstruct the line of sight. The height of the front row railings of the building and the railings of the private rooms on the floor should not obstruct the line of sight, and should not exceed 850mm. Measures should be taken to ensure personal safety, and the solid part at the bottom should not be less than 400mm.
