Stand seats in the multifunctional gymnasium of Hainan University

In October 2021, Chuangxiong Stand won the bid for the seating project of Hainan University Multi functional Gymnasium Stand with its own hard power. After winning the bid, our company has sent professional and technical personnel to the comprehensive hall of Hainan University to communicate with colleagues from the Infrastructure Department of Hainan University on the project plan. Based on the background and requirements of this project, our company has the following interpretations and understandings:

1) Fixed stands for ordinary audience seats cannot be installed in a suspended manner, only in a floor standing manner.

Due to the hot weather in Hainan all year round, the design of building structures fully considers the factors of air conditioning and ventilation. There are ventilation openings under each seat. The bidding documents mention that the fixed stands for ordinary audience seats use hollow blow molded high back seats, and the installation method can be selected as suspended or floor standing according to the site requirements. However, suspended installation is not allowed. Because suspended installation can cause some seat suspension brackets to be installed directly on the ventilation opening, blocking the ventilation opening. Therefore, our company chooses to use floor standing installation.

2) Design of the Connection between the Fixed Stand on the Second Floor and the Activity Stand on the First Floor

The construction of the sports arena has specific requirements for the evacuation of spectators. During events, in order to facilitate evacuation, the owner representatives of Hainan University hope to enable spectators to descend from the fixed grandstand on the second floor to the retractable grandstand on the first floor. This requires the fixed grandstand channel on the second floor and the telescopic grandstand channel on the first floor to be in a straight line. At the same time, the height of the first floor telescopic grandstand needs to be adjusted evenly. Based on on-site investigation, our company has designed the staggered height of the activity grandstand to be 380mm. In addition, the thickness integration of the seats conforms to the golden height, making the height difference from the second floor to the first floor ergonomic.

3) The entrances and exits on the first floor are located at the four corners of the venue. In order to achieve aesthetic appeal and maximize the use of the venue, the retractable stands on all four sides are designed with diagonal angles.

4) Color design scheme for sports venues and comprehensive halls

The overall logo of Hainan University is mainly blue and white, with elements such as waves, coconut trees, and the letter HN included in the website logo.

As a sports venue, it is necessary to reflect the elements of sports. Based on the above considerations, when designing the seat color scheme, we suggest using the main color of Hainan University, blue, as the background, integrating the waves into it, and using white as the waves to fully reflect the dynamic elements. At the same time, add the letter HN to the activity stand on the first floor, fully integrating with the culture of Hainan University. However, the final color scheme can be decided by the owner.

5) The retractable grandstand is hidden under the eaves of the second floor to ensure maximum use of the venue and overall aesthetics of the grandstand.

In September 2023, our company will complete the installation of all grandstand seats according to the overall progress.
